Acer Laptops...Any good?

just looking at laptops, never heard of Acer , are they any good?

I had an Acer monitor when I bought my first slimline monitor and it was fine. I see them for sale at PC world and Tesco Curry's and many mpre thought i don't personally have any experience of the Laptops only the monitor.

I bought an Acer as my first laptop.. was used pretty much constant..only problem I had was the the screen LED (backlight) packed in.. after about 2years (got it replaced no problem under warranty)

Mines and acer laptop, I guess I've had it about 18 months - 2yrs and the only problem with it is the idiot using it

My pal has an Acer laptop, and seems to think it's great (it certainly does a lot!). I have an Acer monitor (19") on my Mac G5, and it's ACE! Bright, clear and legible, and not prohibitively expensive.
