Cod liver oil anyone?

Does anyone give their dog cod liver oil as a supplement?

I think I've heard somewhere, that could be too rich for the dogs?

I have heard that it is preferable to give fish body oil as any toxins tend to be stored in the liver. Haven't researched it so don't know how true it is, but it sounds feasible. However, I know many people do give their dogs cod liver oil with no apparent ill effects. I give mine cold-pressed flaxseed oil and they get tinned sardines in spring water or olive oil regularly.

I do give mine cod liver oil capsules but only twice a week.

My vet warned me against using cod liver oil.............I use wheatgerm oil, which is much better for them, cod liver oil is far too rich in Vit A which you can overdose on!
