Hair dryer - right or wrong?

My husband and i have been having a debate - is using a hair dryer on your dog ok or not?
Please help!!!

I use it on mine too.

ETA
Do not hold it too close to the dog's coat and it is okay provided you use it in moderation, but the same applies to bathing the dog.

I use mine on them. I got one especially that had four settings and use the luke warm one. They love lying on their back and me blasting them. I wouldn't use it too often though as it will damage the coat.

I used to use one on my old long haired dog. I used to put my hand between her skin/hair and the air from the dryer. That way i could lift the hair, feel when it was dry as well as keep a check on the temperature.

My pup (toy poodle) hated it. I used a towel to dry him. My hair dryer is quite powerful. I'd maybe try it again on a lower setting. I don't think there's anything wrong with it if the dog doesn't mind.

You can buy a doggy one from PAH for around £12. This one is quiet if your puppy is scared, I have one but it is not powerful enough for my two large boys and their really long hair, but works fine on the dachshounds.
