AN 80-YEAR-old woman’s life was almost certainly saved by four Rottweilers who led their owner to the undergrowth where she had become stuck.
The pensioner, whose name has not been released, was in the school playing field for 15 hours after losing her footing and falling into a bush. She would have been there all night if David Malt had not been passing with his dogs.
As soon as he let them off their lead they made a beeline for the spot where the woman was lying. Mr Malt, who was with his nephew Jack Martenovic, suspected they had found something and went to investigate.
He found the dogs, Tillie, Billy, Gerrard and May, sitting with the woman, gently licking her. She was taken to hospital where she was treated for the effects of exposure.
Mr Martenovic’s mother Lana, of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, who owns a Rottweiler from the same family of the four, credited them with saving the woman’s life.
