Salmon

Couldn't quite believe it when saw a whole salmon in supermarket today for just over £6.00(was reduced). Felt sorry for it (sad but true), although know it would be a good buy for someone with family to feed n things being difficult. It looked beautiful n couldn't help feeling bad for it. Does anyone else ever feel the same?

Over here the traditional dish on Xmas Eve is Carp, there are millions sold in the week before Xmas. It's a nice tasty fish but there are just so many bones it's impossible to eat.

I get sad seeing reduced meat and not being able to give it a good home as I have so little freezer space! I'm always seeing whole chickens for under £3 (some were under £2 today because people must be fed up with birds). On Monday I could have bought so many different things reduced to almost nothing.

I am glad of the reductions as I'm on benefits and my mother's on a state pension - and at least our local supermarket WILL reduce to almost nothing to stop food going into landfill.... So many of them don't - and that's what I find the worst tragedy... rather than reduce it to 50p, they'd sooner throw it out unsold. Disgusting!

Blimey, that's a bargain!!

I'd have bought that without a second thought - my other half used to work on a fish counter so he'd be able to fillet it all up so it would fit in the freezer!!

I have to admit did buy a whole salmon years ago when family were here, had a real job filleting it though. Think it's bad when food is just thrown away too but think some supermarkets are sending it to charities now which is good.
