I think i may have found the root cause of the problem in a previous post from suze

"ok as of yet - i ahve 2 pics but they are stuck on my fone!! *stupid pink fone!)

sooo - she's only 3 weeks old (today!!) and she's grown sooo much!!

please dont start a war - but the breeder has told me i can have her at 6 weeks - even though i was going to wait until 7 weeks - the mum is getting fed up and we feel sooo sorry for her"

Maybe the problem was due to the pup leaving its mother at such an early age?
