Metacam advice

My dog was diagnosed with bladder cancer 6 months ago. He is doing pretty good. Good days, not so good days. He eats and behaves pretty normal. Today he was shaking in the morning. I gave him his daily Metacam and he settled. This evening he is shaking again. Am I able to give him more Metacam? Even a smaller dose? I know the time is coming soon that I dread. Our vet said we would know when it is time. I don't feel it is now. I just want to make him comfortable as possible. Please! Someone give me any knowledge on Metacam and whether I can even give him a small dose.

i wouldn't like to advise you what to do but call your vet, ask advise, they may be able to tell you if you could give more and if not they may be able to prescribe a stronger painkiller

Agree with griff call your vet. As far as I am aware you give the dose prescribed and metacam has to be given with food. Just before or just after.
I have only given for limb injuries and never given beyond the prescribed daily dose.
You need professional advice.
