Can i get laser treatment for my blind eyes???

Hi Mia Isabella is 11 yrs old Yorkie and is blind in both here eyes, she is a very happy, energetic little dog and i would love to give her, her sight back. If anyone knows about laser treatment for dogs please let me know.

Thank you

Hi and welcome to Dogsey

Regarding your query, your vet should be able to tell you if there is anything which can be done, it would depend on the cause of her blindness.
If its cataracts it might be treatable with an operation but it would depend on how advanced the condition is and if she was up to an op of course.

I`m sorry there is no straightforward answer as it really does depend on if she has a treatable condition or not.

If the vet/ opthalmic specialist [ if you ask for a referal ], feels there is nothing which can be done, rest assured if she is happy with life as she is you don`t need to wish for her sight on her behalf as she will simply adapt or already has adapted
I have 4 deaf dogs and while I would love for them to be able to hear, thats more about how I feel than how they do, they are not bothered by their deafness in themselves, not one little bit, and if your little girl is doing just fine in herself then thats all that really matters

Thank you very much for you help, i know she is a happy little dog but i would love to give her, her sight back, i think there would be nothing better in the world for someone to get there sight back. I will go and check with the vet and see what he has to say.

Once again thank you very much.

Just to reinforce what Patch has said, if nothing can be done by a vet, im sure she will still be very happy.
I have a completely blind dog and another with partial sight, which he is expected to lose completely and they are the happiest dogs and enjoy a very full life, like most other dogs
