Canon sx110is

Hi,
I purchased this camera a couple months ago to replace my 8 year old Olympus, to say im dissappointed is an understatement.
Outdoors are ok-ish if the light is good, but indoors are terrible, consistently underexposed.
I,ve had my boy 4 months now and so wish i had a decent photo of him to post.
Sorry for the moan, can anybody recommend a camera, up to around £200 which gives fairly consistent good pics ?
Thanks,
Jim.

I have a Fujifilm Finepix S5800 , it is very good with stills and have had some success with action shots, but more my poor skills and getting to know the camera than the camera not being good at action shots, it is probs within the price range you mention , for me I wish I had got a camera that you can change lenses on but thats my next project got to be better at taking pics first !

Here is one of my early action shots , I can capture fast moving bikes easier than I can get fast moving hounds !

Is your canon part of the Ixus range? They are normally top little cameras with great reviews....I am off to look for some of your photos to check out the quality now.

I got my first SLR camera a Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens brand new for £220 and that included next day delivery.

I got it from amazon over 2 years ago.

Is your flash working properly, coming on when the light levels are low? I would set up a photo and take the same shot on all the different settings..I presume you have things like outdoor, halogen, sports etc? It will be interesting to see how that affects the light levels.

I did some research on your camera online and the reviews are pretty good so I wonder if you have a duff model?

do you take all of your pics inside?

Do you put the camera on automatic or manual?

What is the ISO set as?
