SBT x Affenpinscher - it nearly happened!

There is a dog walker that uses our local park and I can't say I have a very high opinion of her for a variety of reasons but today just took the biscuit.

She was walking, off lead, a SBT bitch who was in season, complete with seriously swollen girly bits. Unsurprisingly my entire male Affenpinscher was very interested and she was helpfully lying down for him! Fortunately he hasn't got his technique quite right and was going for the wrong end so I was able to easily remove him from the situation. (Another advantage of owning small dogs ) While I pointed out to the dog walker that I very much doubted the owners would be pleased if she brought their bitch home pregnant.

Can you imagine the consequences? Doesn't bear thinking about! And only funny because I made sure it didn't happen!

Good grief, thank goodness he hadn't worked it out yet. Sadly, though, I bet someone somewhere has tried that cross

What a shame the owners of the SBT will not know what poor judgement she has, I certainly wouldn't pay for her services.

What an idiot...you'd think a dog walker of all people would know. Ignornant owners who know no better I can forgive, but someone who works with dogs every day? seriously!

I do dog walking as a part time job and would NEVER be so irresponsible!! I always walk other owners dogs on lead and never walk them together, if an owner wants some socialisation I use my dogs especially Shadow as he's submissive and VERY friendly. When my old girl was in season, I didn't walk her with the other owners dogs as they are 'entire' males, she was kept on lead at all times!! I cant believe she did that!! I'm also lucky to have found wonderful clients and also treat their dog's like I treat my own!!!

The walker in question works for one of those dog services franchises so I have emailed them with a query on if they have any policies or give their franchisees advice on this topic.

I have to say I'm a bit torn, she's a very pleasant person, we've chatted a few times so I know she doesn't have the easiest of personal situations. BUT after seeing her many times I have to say I would never trust her with any of my dogs! I feel a bit stuck as I don't want to get her into trouble with the possibility of loosing her livelihood and yet I do feel for the owners of the dogs entrusted to her...

She'll probably get a slap on the wrist and told to watch what she's doing! And you did the right thing, if that had been my dog I would have gone biserk!!!
