Jellyfish

In spite of current increasing health issues I managed a needed away day recently..

A famous Kerry beach, and I decided to paddle..saw several stranded jellyfish of a kind new to me..



They are called Compass and I stood rapt and totally in awe of the sheer precision and beauty of the design.. all things bright and beautiful...always the comfort and consolation

Isn't it awesome? They apparently are native to the south west coasts of ireland and less commonly parts of the welsh coast.

Ah but they do apparently.. Like a nettle sting. Like thorns on roses it is their defence mechanism..

Well, we now have some beaches closed as there is an infestation of Portuguese Man of War and other poisonous jellyfish. Lifeguards are on Jellyfish Patrol...
