ben surprised me last night

took him out for a quick wee walk, (no garden remember) and we was just meandering along when all of a sudden ben went a bit nuts barking at this man!!!! i had him on a fairly short lead so he didnt get to him, but i think the man made ben jump. he was a black man with a hat low on his face (get what i mean) and he was walking dead in front of me. he soon moved when ben barked. but normally bens the softest mutt ive ever known the type that can kill u but licking to death.
oh well extra vililant for me in future.

Polo barked like mad at the first dark-skinned person he met at a show. Feeling embarrassed that I appeared to have a racist dog, quick as a flash - for once in my life - I noticed he was wearing a hat so I apologised, and said Polo had a thing about hats!
He had never worried about anyone in a hat before so I can only think that he thought he saw someone different and frightening!!!!!!
The man in question was charming and didn't give it another thought!
