Hibiscrub

Can someone tell me if I can use diluted hibiscrub on the wound that a horrible tick left when I removed it?

If it has left a nasty wound, depending on where it is and how bad it is, I would advise letting the vet take a look.

I once removed a tick from between my Cavvie's toes (awkward place) and it turned nasty. I ended up at the vet every other day until it was all clear - she needed antibios and the vet cleaning it out etc. cost me more than a major op would have in the end!

I had removed ticks in the past with no problem but they did not leave a wound that was still bothering the dog.

If it is just a small hole, then yes Hibiscrub can be used, or tea tree oil. However as Tang said, if it actually looks inflamed or nasty in any shape or form then it really is a vet job.

Horrid things ticks, and they can leave their heads behind just like that Even if they don't, they can regurgitate all manner of infection inducing stuff into the dog's bloodstream.

Good luck anyway.

Thankyou both.
The tick was on his side and has left a small hole, as a bit of it got left behind but I have removed it all now. I have washed it and have now put a hibiscrub on it and it already seems to have settled and the redness is going so will keep an eye on it.
