Purizon Dog Food

Has anyone used Purizon dry dog food, or do they know anything about it?

My mum raw feeds her two labs but was looking for a good dry food for trips away when she won't have access to a freezer. She's ordered Purizon which, from the ingredients, does look good:

I just wondered if anyone had any experience of it

Hmmm never heard of it, I see it is British, similar to Orijen on the surface but I cannot see analysis?

Might be a slightly cheaper alternative to Orijen. I might buy a small bag and experiment.

Yeah, I'd never heard of it either. I did recommend Taste of the Wild to her (handy as DAF stock it and that's where she gets her raw delivery from anyway) but she'd already ordered this by the time I mentioned it.

There doesn't seem to be much info about it online; it's a bit of a mystery. Perhaps it is new...

Analysis of Purizon Adult is

Moisture 8.5 %
Calcium 1.3 %
Omega-3 fatty acid 0.6 %
Omega-6 Fatty acid 2.18 %
Phosphor 1.14 %
ash 8.0 %
fibre 2.5 %
fat 17.0 %
protein 41.0 %

The manufacturers are Matina - can't find anything about them

Zooplus have got £10 off at moment, so might give it a try instead of Orijen.

I noticed it on Zooplus but it was all in another language (everything in the description).
I'm thinking it's from the same company as Orijen judging by the logo and as others have said it could just be a European one possibly to reduce the cost for us. Can't say i know anything about it though

Looks interesting, just bitten the bullet & ordered a big bag of the fish. As a new customer I got 10% off as well so that was a bonus They love Orijen so I hope this suits them!

No it's not the same company as Orijen. Orijen is made in Alberta Canada, by Champion Pet Foods who ONLY make Orijen and Acana, and only make them in their own manufacturing plant in Alberta.

That food looks really decent though, and certainly seems modeled after Orijen (their bag even has similar graphics)

BTW, I would not feed Taste of the Wild. It is made by Diamond who had all those horrid recalls for salmonella. Turns out their plants are disgustingly dirty, and there is no routine testing of microorganisms. They've probably cleaned up their act, but for how long?
