Anyone have experience with pleural port/pleural effusion ?

I have a dog (mixed breed pit/beagle) with ongoing pleural effision for the last 6 months. $500 for every time we tapped the fluid out of her chest at the emergency vet was very pricey so about 6 weeks ago we opted to have a pleural port implanted. 5 weeks later it stopped working. Last Thursday we had 2 pleural ports implanted and again we are having trouble with the ports working. After tens of thousands of dollars we are emotionally and monetarily exhausted. This is my baby. The stress level in the house is beyond breaking point. Has anyone had any experience with idiopathic pleural effusion? Pleurxports? She's had every test done and nothing shows any answer. It's transudate fluid, And cancer has been ruled out thru biopsy/CT/ fluid analysis. Please, we are running put off money to help her and at less than 7 years old I can't stop thinking about how unfair this is for her. I'm terrified we will run out of funds before I can find an answer. And no money left for new ports to be put in...I just want to help my baby. I don't understand how 3 ports can simply stop working so fast. And no one has any answers for me even after a second opinion

There are a couple of threads about the condition in Similar Threads, at the bottom of this page, but they do not mention the blocking of ports. I am so sorry that your dedicated care is leading to so many problems. Best wishes.
