Best doggy insurance?

Hi all

Sorry if this has already been covered but was just wondering... I'm currently looking for pet insurance for my pup (Bullmastiff) and am after a few opinions on the best insurers from other doggy owners.

Thanks in advance xx

I don't insure but Petplan if you can afford it is head and shoulders above the rest and vets will accept direct payments from them but usually only them. I prefer to use a 0% interest credit card for the rare occasions I use the vets.

My credit is a bit on the shocking side after my ex took me for everything sadly so it's not an option otherwise I would have definitely considered that but thanks got the Petplan advice

I would say Petplan, they are expensive and with 5 dogs I couldn't afford it, but if I had just one dog, then I would go with them

Another vote for Petplan here. They are quick at paying out from past experience.

I was also with Vetsmedicover and found they massively increased their premiums every year.

I was with Vetsmedicover and in the end had to cancel it, they DOUBLED the premiums, I have never made a claim either. Have gone with the zero percent credit card idea now

I've got two with More than and one with M&S. I'd not say that More Than are any better or worse than others, it depends what you want. M&S were the second best quote for the features I really wanted but offered a higher amount of reward in case of loss or theft.

Some interesting advise I had was to join Dogs Trust which will include public liability insurance and then put money away each month. I am shocked that my oldest dog's premium almost doubled this year and I have never, ever made a claim. Really, I shouldn't have renewed.

I always get quotes on Compare the Market and so on to compare.
