A few days after we arrived she stopped eating and drinking and was screaming when she opened her jaw , turns out she has something call MMM, Masticatory Muscle Myositis , basically inflammation of the chewing muscles. The cause is generally unknown although stress is a possible cause and maybe could have been from the journey. She has 2 large steroid jabs at the vets who was brill and diagnosed it straight away , now into the 2nd week of 3 of steroids, she still has pain when her jaw is opened but is eating and drinking fine but just not quite herself. Hopefully if you catch it early it can go into remission but maybe she will need to stay on steroids if the pain does not go away. She is ok but just a bit subdued , hopefully she will make a recovery but have to say I am worrying about her.
