Dog Friendly Holiday

Kev is getting a small bonus from work, and we have decided to go for a weekend away - it will be our only break this year!

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Lake District that accepts large doggies, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

We're looking to go July time (I know, busy!)

Here you go:

They've got a greyhound and an Irish Wolfhound of their own plus a giant schnauzer so don't think you'll have a problem
It's a lovely place and right next door to a great park that leads to some beautiful walks. Let me know if you'd like anymore information.

Or alternatively; the 'Royal Oak Hotel' in Rosthwaite (Jaws of Borrowdale) which is both dog friendly and in a superb location for a weekends walking holiday. Quite old fashioned but quaint in it's own way. We loved it and so did Sparky. It's dinner bed & breakfast as I recall but very keenly priced.

Thanks Wufflehoond - I found that one on my travels around the internet, and e-mailed them to see if they had vacancies!

It's a toss up between that one, and one in Keswick at the moment, but I will check out the one Catmelodian just mentioned too!

Well, we're all booked!
I just have to send a deposit to them now!

This is where we are going, for 2 nights from 21st July:

They have been very helpful though e-mail, answering any questions, and whats best, is that they are 'dog focussed', not just 'dog friendly'

Will let you know how it goes when we get back - a little while to wait though!

The dog facilities look good. Heated kennels and a stock free exercise field.....plus the rest.
