A Highland man whose guide dog went missing almost five months ago says he has got his life back after being matched with a new companion.

Fraser Stevenson's dog Tess vanished in July but the search for her goes on — in the meantime, replacement dog Remy is him establish his independence once more.

Popping to the shops is something many of us take for granted but for Mr Stevenson walking down Nairn High Street shows just how far he has come in the past few months.

The partially-sighted man was largely confined to his own home after his Tess disappeared while exercising off the lead.

Guide Dogs have now matched him with Remy, a Labrador retriever cross and Fraser is enjoying a new lease of life.

Tess has been missing for four-and-a-half months but celebrities such as Keanu Reeves are stilll sharing her details on social media in the hope she can be traced.
