Stitches - aftercare advice?

hi - poor Red is having a couple of stitches put in his lower eyelid as we speak. bit worried - any aftercare advice?

Vets will advise yopu but watch he doesn't use his paws on them---they will possibly give you a 'lampshade' collar to help protect it.

Some dogs are really good with stitches, others aren't---you will find out!

He will be fine either way. What did he do?

thanks. don't think he'll like an elizabethan collar...

but he's a good boy.

he got jumped on in the park this morning by an aggressive dog...lucky, really, that not more damage.

fingers crossed.

Poor Red - must be quite uncomfortable. I agree about lampshade collar as so easy for him to paw at his wound. I hate those collars but sometimes needs must. Hope the other dogs owner is paying your vet bill

he's home now - swollen, dozey and feeling sorry for himself - but thankfully doesn't seem too bothered by the stitches themselves. thank you.
