Is This a Young Pigeon?

He sat on my wall for ages this morning and didn't mind being photographed at all!
I think it is too early for young, but it doesn't look like an adult bird.
Any ideas?

The fluffiness makes it look young! We have loads of pigeons in the garden but not seen any young yet.
Talking of birds.... look what we had in our garden the other week! I thought it was hurt & was ready to issue a big "leave it" to Tilly - but she was more interested in nextdoors cat who was eyeing up the pheasant from the wall. When I got up close, it flew away!

It's a young woodpigeon. They breed all the year round.

I handreared one of these a couple of years ago - definitely a woodpigeon. I love the ugly cuteness of young birdies!

I love woodpigeoans...the only thing i hate is their call since Bill Oddie on Springwatch kept syaing 'I don't know, I don't know' to mimic it...now that's all I hear!

They are filthy things, guilty of passing Trichomoniasis to Finches and other song birds.
