Catahoula Leopard Dog - I met one in New Orleans.
Miniature Australian Shepherds - met some at a breeder's in Florida... my friend's aunt bred them.
I saw a Beauceron in my local high street last year.
And also saw a Grand Bleu de Gascogny in the high street. [Snap! Kerryowner!]
Oh, and nothing (pictures in books or online) ever really prepares you for your first sight of a Bergamasco!

LOL - that's so funny, I was literally just looking at a pic of a Bergamasco two mins ago!!

Yes, quite something in the flesh, I would imagine...

There is a guy who lives in my village who has a couple of Otterhounds. I gather they are a very uncommon breed.

If we ignore visits to Crufts etc, i think the most unusual/uncommon breeds i've met 'on the street' (at work usually!) would be a Boerboel - who i've met a few times since she first came in as a pup and is lovely- and a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen puppy.
I can't think of any others at the moment! Somebody i met is getting a Turkish Kangal so i may see one of those soon.

A grooming lady down the road has a Hungarian Puli (rasta dog) and its lovely! She said it's not really classified as a rare breed but in the UK there aren't that many breeders.

I'd like to meet a Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Lady from work says that there is a man that brings his into their local pub.

Wow never heard of an eurasier?! Will google that now!
I am the 3rd person to have met a grand bleu de gascogne...amazing!!!
Met a portugese pondengo where I used to work.
a friend of mine has a chinese crested dog.
And oddly a few months ago I worked with a presa canario (Canary dog)....very scary dog he was!!!!!
a few more, bouvier, Anatolian shepherd dog (another scary one) pharoah hound.
My ex boyf rescued a dog that was bred in England but mum was from spain...We were told that he was some kind of spanish pointer??? Didn't know such thing existed? he looks more like a very light skinny lab!!

I don't think I've ever met a 'rare' breed, actually. Probably the most unusual dogs at our local parks have been:

Rhodesian Ridgeback

Alaskan Malamute

Eurasier
Oo I'd love to meet a Eurasier too they look gorgeous

The one I met at our local park was OK... from what I've seen on the website of the Eurasier Society, some of the dogs are far nicer looking than others, both in terms of colour and also faces.
