He's sticking to his own agenda, taking over several threads very reminiscent of NickyAnn and he's a copy and paste devotee, same as her.

Choker chains are a great tool when used by a great trainer who understands how and when to use them. Not all are qualified at this.

PS. On topic

It is best to receive training from a dog handler or trainer on the proper use of a choke collar. Injuries to dogs have occurred when the collars were incorrectly placed on the dog or used improperly. If your dog is very small or has a respiratory problem, choke chains are not recommended.

So pugs should never wear a choker

No Wheeler, it's best not to train with pain at all particularly when their are far kinder and fairer methods out there that achieve exactly the same end

No the best way to train a dog is with kindness.
I've had many breeds other than pugs and trained them all to a high level without ever using a choke chain.

There is no best way to train as all dogs are not equal. Or do you train yorkies by hooking them to a dog sled.

and therein lies the problem. Those using these devices assume that training without pain means just stuffing treats.

Not at all, within the positive training armoury there are many techniques. Do a bit of research, you'll be surprised to learn that positive does not mean permissive and the techniques are wide and varied to accommodate a myriad of types and temperaments.

Never used them, and probably never will. Choker chains look like they're more trouble than they're worth.
