Would you muzzle your dog if.....

......it became law.

someone posted this on another forum so i thought i would ask you what you think??

all dogs muzzled. Simple job for dog wardens, any dog without a muzzle is automatically picked up, whether owner present or not.

If owner gives them hard time, photograph them and £200 on the spot fine.

If owner wants dog back then £100 return charge valid only for 7 days.

Second offence all fees/fines are doubled, third trebled etc.

Within a couple of months there wouldn't be an unmuzzled dog in site.
I wouldn't put a hydraulic scissor in charge a person or animal with a mental age of a small child and then left to roam in public.
Powerful jawed dogs should classed the same as lions etc and licenced and controlled the same.
Where is the problem with any of that?

I think he's barking mad

Nooooo way, he's never snapped at anything or anyone, so why should I?
Until the dog has proven itself aggressive, it should be down to the owners discretion. If a dog does have aggresive tendancies, a good owner would muzzle anyway if they valued the dog not being pts. Then again, most good owners won't have dogs that are aggressive to people =/ (with the exception of rescues etc).

I don't think muzzling is cruel but think its unecessary unless the dog is aggressive and may bite a person or another dog, then i think they should be muzzled, its irresponsible not to then.

Nope. Never. My dog is friendly, calm, loves people and dogs and cats. She's never done a thing wrong and I'm not going to punish her by slapping a muzzle on her.

Considering the way some people let their kids run around screaming, rushing dogs, hitting them and pulling their tails I suggest all kids be kept on a 4 foot leash with their hands tied behind their back.

So we are against the generalisation that dogs are aggressive, but not that kids are out of control lunatics?

I don't think dogs should be muzzled unless necessary. A ludicrous idea!

I think ...
all old people should be banned from queues I`m in
all small children should be gagged on Sundays
anyone who smells should be banned from public transport
and people who write daft suggestions for dogs should be deported.

But it ain`t gonna happen
shame, really.

That's exactly the point. Assuming all kids are out of control and therefore should be leashed or whatever is just as ludicrous as assuming all dogs are dangerous and should be muzzled.
