Tonks' underwater experience!

Tonks had her first experience of full under water submerssion today!

She was faffing around in the shallow part of a pond and stepped off an under water ledge. She went down like a tonne of bricks, the water went completely still and she was down there for about 4 seconds!

It was the longest four seconds of my life!

There were no air bubbles, and then she sort of floated back to the surface. I thought it was a log at first because she came up so gently and covered in weed - with only one eye showing.

She looked stunned in a very quiet way and climbed to the edge!

Wish i could say she was swimming but it was more like syncronised sinking!

Yeah she's fine thank you - i tried to be matter of fact about it when she finally floated back up so as not to panic her.....but for a moment i thought i was going to have to throw my OH in to save her!

She must have just sunk to the bottom then floated back up again.

Aww the wee soul. That happened to Sam when he was a pup and later when he was a bit older. He fell through the ice and when he was older in a deep pond.Emerged covered in pond weed. Your description of the incident is very amusing but I don't suppose it was very at the time! They are little rascals!

Awww poor Sam - at least it was a hot day for Tonks' experience!

Toby, i was trying very hard not to panic - and once she was on the bank safe again it was very funny!

My wee shar pei did that once and had a bad dream about it, you could hear her spluttering and choking in her sleep, I had to wake her lol, glad she floated back, probably cause of those lovely long legs she has xx

Oh dear, hope she's not too fazed by her dunking!

My dogs did this once - we were walking in a new place and there was a big pond. I think my dogs expected it to slope in gradually so they just ran in but stepped off a ledge and disappeared! It didn't put them off though - 5 mins later they were in it again, albeit a bit more pepared for the drop!

Awww glad mine is not the only silly pup! I'm not sure if she dreamt abou tit but she slept really well last night (after puppy class too), too well infact, she wakes every morning at 7am, and i have set my alarm since we've had her. Today i woke up at 8.30 and she was still asleep! I was supposed to be out assessing a student at 8.30! aaaaggghhhh!
Poor little pup.
