There are some amazing bits in there. i managed the first 10 mins then ran out of time. Is this a competition or a display. I am assuming he is a working dog and doing some sort of seize and search.Could you tell us a little more about the video? It was very interesting.

It is a compilation of NVBK belgian ring trails off a dog called A'tim. Belgian ring is the oldest dogsport in the world every other "ringsport" like French ring, KNVP and more recently mondioring have thier origins in this sport. First exhibitions of this kind of work were held as early as 1880 the first compititions were held in the beginning of the 20th century. It takes 2 years to train a dog all the excercises and another year t get him ready for competition. The reason is that allthough the excercises are the same the way they are performed varies from trail to trail.
(comparison A schutdog can get his schz1 at 18 months)
These dogs are physicaly and mentaly extremely strong. The dogs that don't make it are often sold to army and police worldwide.

The work is devided in 2 parts (official 3 but for the handlers it is 2)

1 small work

Possitions (stand sit down)
Walk on leash
Walk off leash
food refusal
recognising a scent
forward
retrieve
jumping 2 ways a hedge of 1.2 meters
jumping a didge 1.5 meters wide with a hedge of 1.2 meters behind it
jumping a didge of 3 meters
jumping the same didge with an extention of 1 meter
Scaling a palisade 2 ways 2.2 meters high
1 minute down

Big work (bitework)
2 attacks
1 interupted attack
defence of handler
search and bark
escorting a prisoner (3 flight attepts with one with gunshut)
guard of an object
muzzled guard of an object

Although these dogs are trained to bite they are the safest dogs to have.
They know when they may bite
We have controle over them and can recall them within the last meter if necessary.

Here's another one less long
