Is anyone actively involved in Schutzhund; does anyone have titled dogs ?

Hi

Gordon Lover does Schutzhund, not sure if she has titled her dog yet. She isn't on here very regularly at the moment, but I am sure she will repond to your post when she sees it

If you type Schutzhund into the 'search' facility you will get a few hits.

We have been training for around 10 years, we were all SchH till around 2-3 years ago when we started doing suitwork also. I do all suitwork with my Mals at the moment, but only yesterday at training I said to my hubby that one of the pups I will keep out of my next litter I think I will do just SchH with again...

Currently have a SchH2 GSD, who is about to be retired.

What breed are you working with?

Yup, I'm the mad SchH lady with the short legged dog who has "amazing drive"

Currently (as we're in switzerland) we're working actively towards the BH1 (in german speaking countries it goes up to BH3 and is more like obedience than the Temperment test you're used to) and our first trial will be in December.

With my current dog I can only go so far as he is a small dog (only 34 cm at the ithers), but he manages work on the bite sleeve well enough as we're training for VPG (Vielseitigkeits prüfung) where man work isn't so physically demanding on the dog, the only down side is the tracking and the directed search of a field/bit of forest. We also do a bit of Mondio but the problem there is those jumps. He can just get himself over 1.4 meters so it's a no go. He loves it though, and the trainer once said that if he was just 30 cm bigger..................
