I really don't know to be honest SB. I did a bit of a Google when I saw your post, but I'd guess rotts would be allowed to enter most, if not all, herding trials anyway - as Wolfie says, they were originally herders (well, drovers really). Even as pets their driving instinct can be pretty strong - a lot of "heading off at the pass" can go on.

I know they do pretty well in a lot of US herding trials - I'll have to try to find a link.
