Hi Jackie! Thanks for inviting me here so I can watch the babies progress! I'm very interested in the whole process! I'll probably never do any breeding myself & this may just be the closest I'll ever get to "raising" macaws, or any birds for that matter! I'm so fascinated with the whole progress.
How old are the parents? Is this the first eggs for this pair? What is it called, a clutch?

the parents are called sausage and chips and they are both 8 years old


no they have had babies for a few years now
i think these eggs are about their 12th
we only got them last year and we had 2 babies from them
here,s a pic of last years babies for you


we sold one and kept one

3 weeks full time hevvur then we take them out during the day to give mum and dad a break and they go back in at nites
once mum and dad have had enough,usually around 5-6 weeks we take them out for good

yes fully then hevvur
and it is for however long is needed
normally they are fully weaned by about 16 weeks
that is eating fruit,nuts etc on there own
