Webcam help!!

Sorry for keep posting threads but i realllly need help

For christmas i got a webcam unluckily its never worked (well not on msn anyway) when i invite a contact to view it all i see is blackness Ive been on the settings and everything but still no change

Please can someone tell me what im doing wrong???

Well its quite obvious isn't it - it doesn't want fellow msn'ers to be scared half to death

Try it on the lap top and see if you can get it working on there - it must be something simple like you haven't turned it on or something Have you still got the instructions for it and can't you ask your brother as he has one just the same?

Yes it is turned on because it shows a green light and am not that dumb! lol and are ya kidding??? DAN! HELP ME??!?!

It hasnt really got a make its just called pc camera

Ok Laura, plug in you cam, go into 'my computer' and see if there is an icon for you cam there....

If there isn't, then it isn't installed, have you loaded the disk you got with it??

If there is an icon, click it and a box should come up with you cam images. If it does then the problem is something to do with msn

If this screen is black also, it has something to do with the cam, it may not be loaded properly or connected properly or something like that...

Are you in a bright room - if you have no light on then it will appear dark on the pc.

Also if you are running XP you should have a found new hardware icon appear in the bottom right to say its been detected.
