Max impresses professionals....

Today we went on a dog walk organised by my training club. It was a very informal thing, and there were about 10 dogs of varying breeds, sizes, ages and tempraments.

About half way round, we were able to let the dogs off lead for some free-running. I was quite wary of doing this, as Max's recall is rubbish when there are other dogs around, and he can play quite rough.

I did let him off, and his behaviour was impeccable!

He came back when called, left a dead rabbitalone when commanded, left other dogs alone rather than playing/fighting with them, and almost did "heel"!!!

The trainers who were there said he was so well behaved and that I must be spending hours practising our commands etc

Of course, he is a little devil dog at home, but puts on his best behaviour when out, even so, I'm so pleased that he was good. Just have to make sure he behaves in class!

Well done. I think they just behave to surprise us sometimes, just wish it happened more often with ours.

Sounds like you have done a great job with Max
I can't believe he is a devil dog at home just a bit high spirited
