I will not and never have held people's upbringing, class if you like, against them. It IS IMO classist claptrap to talk about Blair, Johnson, Cameron coming from a privileged background - as if it were something derisory, to be mocked. They are what they are - priviliged men who were fortunate enough to be born into privilege. They cannot be blamed for this, they cannot help their background. As it is in the animal kingdom, so it is in our species - there are the have's and have-nots; it is not fair, it is cruel and unkind but it is the natural way - the communistic ideal is just that - an ideal - and it does not work. Men are not all born equal, just as our dogs are not born equal. Some are high ranking, some are low ranking, twas ever thus and twill ever be. Like it or lump it. I am lucky enough to have had a privileged upbringing - it does not make me a better human being, I am what I am, and I am and always will be so grateful for the sacrifices my parents made for my brother and I to give us an excellent education and a wonderful childhood. I am lucky, I am not special and I think it very unfair if anyone criticises me for my luck - or criticises Boris Johnson, David Cameron or Tony Blair for their luck.
