The Buzzards

Some of you will know that I am keen on birds. I have seen many Buzzards in my time but when I see them from my garden, it is still special. Especially because we had a group ( I do not know if it is usual, never seen them in groups before but that is how I often saw them last year)of about eight flying about last summer and I have been told by a fellow villager that he came across two dead the other week, I cannot remember whether he thought they had been shot or poisoned

Anyhow, a few pics for you , taken from a distance as you can see xxxx:

Think this could be a courtship thing:

I am guessing the smaller of the two is the male.

Hope you enjoyed them , feel free to add any garden bird pics, big or small here if you would like xxxxx

Lovely pics - we have had a few unusual sightings for our area due to the snow and cold weather.
We have had a female black cap, a fieldfare and a kestrel flew into my 30ft square garden (ie tiny) to have a go at the little birds which were on the feeder.
I also had the pleasure the other week whilst walking Missy of a barn owl hunting and accompanying us on about 15 minutes of our walk (it was only 4pm)

lovely pics. Saw a group of large birds that looked the same as those on the way back from Birmingham at the weekend. They were all circling together, quite low though. Could they have been buzzards? I've never seen such a big group before.

they had the same markings under the wings as the ones in your pic so reckon they were. but i've only seen them alone or in pairs so was amazing to see 10+ all together. wish I d had a camera to hand!

I was watching a Buzzard in flight yesterday , beautiful .
We have a nesting pair at the bottom of the field, hope they breed again this year. The chicks make a dreadful noise at night though

As a pet? Looking forward to the pics. I am keen on Red Kites too. I have been to the Scottish feeding centre but not made it to the Welsh one yet. I am due another visit soon, will get some pics hopefully.
