I agree, I do feel mean though as the girls are out for a hour in the morning (free range) and again afternoon, although they do have a huge pen and lots of perches etc., but the girls do make alot more mess then the boys, they dig all the roots, bulbs, and pots out, so they can not be loose in the garden all day long like the boys.
The boys are a tidy pair

That made me laugh, I was expecting to see photos of two dogs instead when I looked it was two chickens I wasn't expecting that. Lovely chooks all the same.
