While we're on the subject, I'm in the process of starting to dig some vegetable beds. Can anyone recommend any veg which are easy to grow, bearing in mind I haven't got a greenhouse to start things off in.

if you dont want to start from seed go to your market and get some cabbage plants they go in now and are used to call weather,runner bean seeds you can plant straight into beds but its a bit early yet also the same as peas they can go straight in the ground but there not ready yet usually mid april to may you can start planting and you will get a real nice crop of what ever you decide to grow

OH planted some chilli plants a couple of years back and they were great especially for curry's,he grows toms,runner beans,potatoes,broad beans,the list is endless...

aww its brilliant when you can grow your own veg it tastes better and its there all through summer and even better you can freeze it and have it all year round

this is how i grow my broad beans

runner beans i grow like this

this was me salad plot lost year lettuce radish cucumber and gibbons

its surprising what you can grow

aww thanks sal i love growing things its surprising how much you can grow in a not so large space cos once one has finished you slap in another veg to take its place

it does your right there plenty of flavour not like the shops and you can help yourself all the time i cant wait to get it all growing this year

It looks fantastic - I'm jealous.

Just one question. What's a gibbon? I thought it was something like a monkey? If you can grow them then it really is surprising what you can grow!
