Yes indeed June, just click on the link from your Netbook, download the compatibility tool and it will check your hardware and software. It will then tell you if there are any problems. Most manufacturers of Netbooks and Laptops take the view that the cost of developing new drivers for Win 7 or Win 8 is not worth their trouble, they prefer you to buy a new computer. Without the right driver you may well find that parts of your laptop don't work, eg, no wi fi, or web cam won't work anymore, etc etc.

If you can't upgrade your XP box to Win 7, or don't want to, here is a solution from respected security company Malwarebytes. For £23 a year they will provide security protection for XP users.

Thanks Barry, will be firing up my netbook at some point today and then seeing if it will take 7. I've got Breeders Assistant on there so can't afford for it to go down. Everything else is backed up on a hard drive, but obviously can't back that one up.
It isn't 'doing' wi-fi anyway, well it will to read emails, but you can't send anything, you have to plug it into the box, same with printing, you have to plug it into the printer

I was so sorry to say goodbye to my XP - I still miss it now.

Tang, I tend to agree with you in that I would not be in the least bit surprised if some nasty little bugs didn't suddenly surface in a week or two for those still plugging on with XP. Microsoft have no scruples I fear.
