A soft-coated wheaten terrier is about to celebrate 10 years performing in theatres, an achievement which has earned him a place in the Guinness World Records. Danny, who started at seven months old, has played orphan Annie's dog, Sandy, around 1365 times in the musical production of 'Annie' and will earn the title of 'Most Performances by a Dog in a Theatrical Production' on Tuesday 22 November, on his 10-year anniversary.
According to his colleagues, Danny is “a joy to work with” and has never missed a performance. Popular with children, he always gets a big cheer at the end of the show. Touring ends on 31 December and Danny's owner, Rita Mansell said that he would miss it.
