Dogs that Changed the World ref (Sled Dogs)

I am still watching the above, I have just come to the part with the 'Sled Dogs'. Did anyone else watch this programme? What are the actual dogs in the programme? They are in the Arctic Circle and he has also, once refered to the dogs as 'Inuit Dogs'. Are they actual Inuit Sled Dogs? One of the dogs looked different to the others. Ref diet , the narrator has said that the dogs diet is simply Seal Blubber and Snow, they looked really healthy and must be to work so hard. Very interesting.

Was that part of the Iditarod they were talking about?
I thought the original dogs there were malamutes, huskies being introduced later.
Of course, if its not the Iditarod, I've no idea

Thanks , but I do not think so. They haven't mentioned it and I am at to the stage in the programme where the Inuit people are about to hunt with the assistance of the dogs.

Hi
I watched both parts of the programme last week. I don’t know what those particular dogs are but I was surprised that their diet is just Seal blubber and water. How amazing if they are adapted to do such hard work on such a limited diet but I suppose that must be how they have evolved. I daresay resources are pretty limited out there.
I thought the 3D illustration of the Bedouin Saluki was very interesting too.
I thoroughly enjoyed both parts – entertaining and informative.

Having watched the rest of that one, I think it is safe to say they were Inuit Dogs. Gorgeous, hard working animals doing what they are bred to do, awesome xxxxxxxxx
