Yes griff it is and I am a bit peed off but it has become so complicated with regard to us being so close to the neighbour and needing to meet all the regulations that it isn't worth pursuing.
We have to settle for the next best thing. We did think about the gas living flame but that is as complicated we would need a gas pipe run across one of the bedroom walls through the wall into the living room into the fireplace. So electric is the way to go.
At least we can have a fireplace and something that looks realistic and won't need cleaning and the chimney swept every year.

Shouldn't the guy who looked at the flue have known about planning regulations?

If you don't need it for heat then electric fires are very clean and there are some nice ones on the market. The beauty of electric fires are they are so easy to change if anything goes wrong

We had a little snow Moyra, it has settled and I managed to get out and get some bread .. just in case lol
I don't know if I said but I got Steve a suit in the January sales...with discounts it cost me £27 free delivery and returns, I wasn't entirely sure what size so I bought 2 and have been nagging him for a week to try it on ( he has a funeral Tuesday and I have a big birthday this year so might want to go somewhere posh) he has never had a suit and he was really against it, finally I got him to try it on tonight and he looks lovely in it... really smart!! Now I just need to send the other one back

My hubby hates trying on clothes.

When he worked long hours, I didn't really mind, but hated taking stuff back to the shops when they didn't fit.

I finally put my foot down when we retired so now he orders his stuff online.

What is it with men and trying stuff on?
