Buddy - 11 months old - whippet/collie/greyhound x

** UPDATED JANUARY 2014 **

Gorgeous young Buddy is looking for a new home through absolutely no fault of his own and was signed over by his owners as he did not meet their requirements. Buddy is an 11 month old whippet/collie/greyhound cross who is roughly whippet size and stands approx 50cm/20" at the shoulder.

He is still puppyish in his ways and he has only been in a foster home for a few days so he is still learning the finer points of house training and house rules. He is a lively young dog who is part collie and so he will need ongoing training, play and stimulation and a reasonable level of exercise. He will therefore suit an active family, couple or person. He may enjoy agility training.

Please note that Buddy must never be let off lead near public roads or livestock but loves safe fields and beaches to stretch his legs.

Location: Foster home in Norfolk.
Key Points: Young, lively, needs ongoing training, may be suited to agility, travels well, good with other dogs, very loving, not to be let off lead near livestock or public roads.

~ Personality ~
Generally: Buddy is a typical happy-go-lucky young fella who loves to run and play.
This adorable happy little man loves people and other dogs and being a typical puppy still will need on-going training but is very keen to learn especially for a yummy treat! His expressive little face is enough to melt any hearts so be warned he will have you wrapped around his little paw before long!

~ Other Animals ~
Generally: Great with other dogs, can get over-excited, not yet tested with cats.
Buddy loves other dogs and wants to be everyone's friend although can get over excited around other animals. He has not yet been cat tested but this is being arranged.

~ In the Home ~
Generally: Has only been in a home for a few days.
Buddy's manners are coming along in leaps and bounds and his house training and learning 'home' boundries is all coming very naturally to him. Gentle guidance is all that will be needed to simply reassure him that he is doing everything right. Buddy is currently living with 3 other dogs of varying sizes and ages.

~ Out and About ~
Generally: Loves going on walks, can pull on the lead at times but improving every day, once bonded will be able to go off lead.
Buddy is great with other dogs and wants to be friends with pretty much everyone. He can be let off lead in a SAFE area once he has bonded with his new family but must not be let off the lead near public roads or livestock. Ideally he will benefit from two off lead walks per day. He really loves to run and do twizzles and also adores going to the seaside so don't forget your bucket and spade!

~ Where Can I Live? ~
Because of Buddy being a young and active dog he will suit an active family, couple or single person who is around for most of the day. He would also prefer to live with at least one other dog to play with and to show him the ropes. Please note we do not re-home to families with children under 8 years of age.

~ Where Am I? ~

Buddy is currently in a foster home in Norfolk. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to meet and collect him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Buddy is a very friendly little guy who just wants a family of his own, he is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, de-flead and micro-chipped. Please note a homecheck will be carried out as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Buddy, you can contact me (Bronwen) via email: bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk or you can speak to me directly by phoning: 075 000 62648.

There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the Adoption Page.

Thank you.
