Pumi's?

I was reading one of my childhood books and there was mention of a Pumi in it.

I've never come across the breed before.

I would've put it in one of the groups, but when it came up on google it was suggested it was a sheepherding terrier...

Any ideas?

I believe a pair were imported a few years ago, and two litters born here. Some ended up in rescue, and no more were bred as the line was found to produce epilepsy.

Seems a shame, as they are certainly very different-looking!

I looked into these my my mother was very interested in them.
They are a herding breed but have the tenacity of a terrier and really need a job to do.
Theres a couple of breeders in Europe and someone in the UK has imported a few.

Yes, they look like crosses between Bedlingtons and CC's with a tad yorkie or some other terrier in there - unusual looking..

So there is little chance someone on dogsey owns one then?

One of these competed in the International HTM competition at Crufts this year - it was a fantastic little dog.

I did lots of googling after watching him/her.

There are a few breeders in the US. Gorgeous breed, and it's amazing to see them herd!

Thank you! I don't think I'd be the right kind of owner for a Pumi but when I watch her I wish I was.

Spoke to Karolina she said they were a bit like a mix of Beardie and terrier so would imagine they would be fun if hard work

If they were just terrier they'd be perfect for me I don't really do hard work.
