Killer Staffies

Did anyone see the article in the Daily Mail yesterday, I didn't but have seen it mentioned on another site.Apparantly a kennel owner let 2 Staffies go into a kennnel containg a Border Collie, and they ripped it to bits, the kennel owner then buried the dog in a nearby field, and told the collies owners who had been on holiday to France that their dog had run away ! Obviously the truth came out in the end, poor Collie and its owners, and I'm shocked that the staffies would have done that.

I should add that I'm totally shocked the kennel owner would have done any of that as well, and I hope she loses her licence.

How awful!!!!!!

I can't believe that. The least the kennel owner could have done was be honest about it.

The ex-collie owners must be so gutted

Terrible. I suppose, like all dogs, it depends how they have been brought up and socialised....or not! They, like lots of other dogs have the potential to cause a lot of damage, with massive and strong jaws etc.

What on earth the kennels thought they were doing is the question i would want answered, if I were either of the dogs owners!

I would also take most things reported in the media with a pinch of salt.

Just retrieved Daily Mail out of Recycling bag, and looked through it again, and nothing in mine about that
I know they do different editions for different parts of the country though

I agree to a certain extent about the media but would think it must be a true story, although I don't know all the details. If its true its going to be bad news again for staffies, the rescue centres are already full of them, and they are not aggressive dogs unless they fall into the wrong hands, and end up with brainless chavvys for owners.

Interesting ,as I said I haven't seen the story just read about it today on another site, maybe its not true, although its difficult to know why someone would make up a horrible story like this.It caught my attention because I've got 2 dogs a Collie and a staffie Collie x

The problem is anything that looks remotely like a Staffie is classed by many as a Staffie
The kennel owner doesn't sound like someone you could trust your dog with either
I rarely take anything written in the paper to be factual..

Yes i think part of it might be true, but the detail may be wrong.

Do you remember when Princess Anne's SBT killed one of the queens corgis? I think the full story that came out in the end is that the queens very eldery corgi (with a very bad heart) snapped at the EBT and she retaliated. She didn't rip it to parts, or anything like that, one bite ( i think) and the corgi died.....maybe even from a heart attack. I wonder if it would have been reported in the same way if it was another breed of dog.

I have found the story and the dogs are Staffie crossbreeds so that could mean almost anything..
No mention of any dog being ripped apart either as far as I can see unless I missed it , just killed but I guess that doesn't sound sensationalist enough for some..
Two days later, Arte was killed after two Staffordshire bull terrier crossbreeds got into his pen.
