Brilliant Book

Hi I have just finished this incredible book, the intro says its about a dog called Enzio who lives with a family who are going through various turmoils, but in the background,it explores Formular One Racing mainly in the 70's,which I was a fan off real racing drivers, like Lauda Hunt and my favourite Ronnie Peterson, though Enzio the dog is the real star,it is really moving and I did cry at the end. It is called:-
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.Gemini54

Never heard of it, but just checked it out on Amazon and it's got a huge number of very good reviews.

Not sure if it would be my cup of tea though - for some reason I don't really tend to read books about dogs.

Hi I read anything, but I know what you mean, because the dog stories are not just about the dog,My favourite books are Born Free the whole series, and it led me to lessor known book of Joy Adamson,a book of all the African Tribes each page beautifully painted,a small piece of narrative, but her drawings and paintings, she was a very talented lady Gemini54

I read it some years ago and what really stuck with me was the opening few paragraphs Brilliant book that I really enjoyed .... including the racing bits. It also made me feel better about the awful decision to have a dog PTS.

I too would highly recommend it.

Perhaps they spend so much time reading forums they don't bother to read books!
