Taking a puppy out

There is a dog show next week quite a distance from my house. My puppy is three months old and the vet thought it wasn't a good idea to take her there because she hasn't had all of the rounds of her shots yet. Do you think his advice is good and it's not safe to take her for fear of disease?

If she is small enough to carry it might be ok to take her (carried my pup around places from 8wks). But, I would be worried about kennel cough at a dog show.

I think I would probably go the safe than sorry route on this Babs, Savannah is sooo adorable I wouldn't want to put her at risk even if the risk was small. I guess what Shadowboxer said would minimise the risk because there would be no actual contact with any other dog, but then you have to think about airbourne viruses etc.

I didnt let Rocky out of the house/garden until he had his final jab, but we were lucky as we only had to wait 2 weeks...

I'm thinking the safe than sorry route too. She has an appt. in two weeks for more, but I could swear the vet said she would need one more round after that, equaling up to three rounds. I'm going to call him later to clarify in case I mixed the info. up. I don't like shot happy vets myself. My other dogs came fully vaccinnated, and I only update their rabies every year because it's the law, and skip the others because of the possible cancer/tumor link. I also figure kids need shots once or twice, same for dogs. I'll get Tigger and Montana more rounds when they are 6 or 7 I thought...

Kennel cough does concern me. That's one I didn't even take into consideration, thanks Shadowboxer.

She is too heavy Bon I can barely carry her a few feet.
