Cost of 'dangerous dogs' kennels criticised

Some dogs are kept in police kennels for up to 3 years those poor dogs missing out on vital socialisation

Police forces are spending millions of pounds on kennels to hold suspected dangerous dogs.

A BBC investigation has discovered some animals have been locked up for almost three years while the courts decide what should happen to them.

A total of 7,000 dogs have been kennelled over the past five years.

There are calls for an urgent overhaul of the process, which critics describe as too slow, costly, and cruel.
