ok i have just spoken to my friend in essex...

he says
its a chip butty
that gravy is horrid but he is for the curry sauce or cheese...
but to have cheese he wants beans aswell!!

ketchup is popular but I say that should be only for home made chips.
Gravy is the best despite what the poll says
Curry is good also but has to be hot.
Mustard on hotdogs is fine, onions have to be finely cut.
Its a chip muffin, barm is ok dependent on location. Buttie is if its sliced bred.
