The bed that took over 7 hours to build!!!

Yes, you read it right over 7 hours!!!!

Mia has been on at me to get her a cabin bed for ages, we finally gave in and it came last week, i had to wait for OH to have a day off to help me put it together, over 7 hours, with a lot of help or it would still be sitting there, in bits.

So, Sunday we got cracking at about 1.30pm, now, this is a bed with a sofa bed and a desk underneath, you could build it whichever way round you wanted and to fit in Mia's room we needed it a certain way, of course the instructions are the opposite way to the way we want it, so now we have to build it in reverse

ok, we did stop for pizza and refreshments but I dont think i sat down until well over 9.30pm.

It was a job and a half but we got there in the end...

The sofa......

Great for reading and sleepovers

The desk.... as modelled by Busta
And the shelves....modelled here beautifully by Jessie

Up the ladder.....(Mia's favourite bit )

And in to bed......

God help me if i ever move

My daughters got the same bed, it took us an age to build it as well. They kind of expect you to juggle more than one bit that you can only do if you're an octopus.

What did you do have a sleep for five hours half way through building it?

Ok I admit it a couple of years ok Michelle took a whole day to build just one 5 draw chest of draws, in the same time it took me to build my daughter a four poster bed, 2 wallrobes and a dressing table and she didn't even glue the joints together.

The instructions had a little pic of two men with spanners, i almost rang up and complained they were missing from the box

Was you using either a left handed spanner or an anti clockwise screwdriver?

Awww bless her! She'll love it.
Charlie has one of those and they are brill, but I need rid of his free to a good home!

One condition, they come and dismantle it.

He can't use it anymore because of his back brace so is in one of the other bedrooms until we get rid of this bed for a 'normal' bed.
His is silver and royal blue and cost a lot of money, but it just needs a new home now.
