Senior dog food (Chudley's? / other recommendations?)

hi,

am moving oscar on to a senior food as he was still on an adult food and we think ti might be more benificial for him.

he is a bit thin too so needs feeding up too.lol

i am going to try him on chudleys senior as it looks good and is easy to get for me and doesnt cost a fortune.lol

just wondered if anyone ahd any opinions on this ??

or can reccomend a good senior food if he doesnt suit this maybe ?

I've never heard of Chudleys so can't comment on that. But I moved my two from Pedigree Chum about a month ago over to Chappie. Plus now they get either a chicken fillet or mince every day.

The vet said that Chappie was a very bland food (despite the smell) and that is probably why they don't get the runs any more.

Why not try feeding twice a day to build Oscar up?

I have been using Arden Grange senior which has been brill.Was on Burns but he dropped weight(GSD) and the AG has put it back on a treat.I do have to order it at pet shop and keep forgetting so I may try him on autarky as this is kept in stock!

cannot find chappie round here for love nor money.lol

need the nutritional facts too for an assignment.lol

its made by dodgsons this chudley and from it says looks ok.

he has 3 meals at the minute per day.

how he was fed by old owner so didnt wanna just switch t 2 meals.

but he has like the reccomended amount on the back of the bag and hes just been wormed so fingers crossed he will ulk up abit.

adding an extra bit of food too for time being seeing how that goes.

I personnally don't rate Chudleys. Its the cheap range of dog food. My friends dogs were on it & they looked awful!
Its best to stick with good quality dog like:
James Wellbeloved
Burns
Arden Grange
CSJ
Autarky
Dr John
Nutro

I use JWB Senior/Light for Polly, who is in top condition on it at the age of 9. Polo will go onto it later in the year as he is being neutered next week and it will help stop him ballooning out and becoming a fat boy.

For building up, you can add cooked pasta to the meals, very bland and will help to build weight (and cheap! ) Tripe is good too, for helping whelping bitches get their condition back I would add Butcher's tripe to the kibble and they were back up to their normal weight in no time.
