We accidentally watched the end of Coast on BBC2 before, and right at the end they showed our beach with the funny iron men on it It was very exciting!

Anybody see it?

Next time you can come and have a cuppa (or some mulled wine) to warm up afterwards, and to use the loo. The dunes are less than a minute's walk from here

Is that the beach with all the giant iron men randomly spread along it?
I saw something about it last week. Think it was on Channel 4 news about the artist selling them to America?

hiya, I was there last week, with one of the kids from work, it was peeing down and dead windy, but we got out for a walk anyway and went to see the men, however just as we were about to get close enough to see them through the driving rain, the young lady i was with decided we weren't going any further, so i still have not yet managed to see the men!!!! B*gger!

Exactly!!! Here's a link to a thread with some pictures of them:

Lolo's right, we have a temporary reprieve, I think of four months, during which time we have to persuade Sefton Council that

a) They're great for the area
b) The fishermen are still fishing quite happily there
c) Nobody surfs Crosby beach anyway, Formby point blocks the waves (speaking as an oceanographer here!
d) The only people who really want them gone are the jet-skiers who only use the bay illegally anyway

You should have been here the last couple of days Lolo, it's been superb in this beautiful (if cold) weather we've been having!
