"Come" with added distractions (outside)

I have been trying to perfect this for ages and seem to get there, then without reason one dog runs away ( not far but breaks the command)

It is fine again at home in the garden, but in open spaces with other dogs, and they have to go say hello!!

Help please x

i would keep your dog on a long line (30ft). you can buy these from pets at home and some other pet shops.
i would attach this to your dog and allow it to drag behind him.

if he ignores a recall command, u can reinforce it by reeling him back in.

without the lead, if he ignores a recall, he very quickly learns he can.

also proof against distractions in your garden first, such as someone playing football or squeaking his toy.

Thanks again Jenny, I do take a squeeky toy and it does have it's advantages. Like my other post and your suggestion of a long leash, I will certainly give that a go.
